Denture Types
- Single denture: A denture made to natural opposing teeth (usually an upper)
- Complete dentures: Upper and lower.
- Partial Denture: Replaces only those natural teeth that are missing in one’s mouth. They can be made from acrylic or a combination of metal and acrylic. The latter giving a much better fit. See information under material bullet
- Splint: Is a removable acrylic covering placed on top of the natural teeth to help prevent bruxing (grinding). It is made under the prescription of a dentist.
- Immediate denture: Is inserted into the mouth immediately after the natural teeth have been pulled. Please refer to the article under denture information.
- Repairs: Most repairs can be done while you wait (30 to 40 minutes). Please Call First
- Relines: Is the resurfacing of the “bottom” or the side that contacts the gum. This ensures proper denture-ridge contact. A consult is required to determine if a reline can even be done. More harm (ill-fit) can be done if certain requirements are not met prior to relining. Relines should be performed every 2 to 3 years or as warranted.
